Every Tuesday at Burleigh Uniting Church (under the church in the hall area) we provide a three course meal and take aways for those living rough or at risk. We additionally provide toiletries, clothing and essentials to help make another day on the streets slightly brighter. We work beside Queensland Health every week to provide a safe space for those wanting to access government services. Those include health & housing. If you or some one you know is doing it rough please go to our ‘Contact Us’ page so that we can offer our support and services.
Christmas Eve Lunch 2020
What usually marks our biggest event of the year where we cater for over 200 people with an array of entertainment, luxurious gifts with guest appearances and performances, has inevitability changed this year.
We’ve had to take a different approach. With the ongoing Covid restrictions throughout 2020 it caused a delay in being able to confirm our usual Christmas Eve reception.
With a whole team and sponsorships that take an entire year to organise and prepare for the big day and the impediment of Covid, we had no other alternative but to cancel this years annual event.
With that said our focus vastly switched to Covid support for Gold Coast local’s, and as we are 100% not for profit charity, the money allocated for the annual Christmas Eve event has now been spread to all families doing it tough, week in and week out. Our reach and focus has changed for 2020 but our motto hasn’t, be a good human.
Our 2020 Christmas dinner is available Tuesday 22nd December for regulars of our service. Registration for Christmas hampers are available for those in need under the ‘Contact Us’ tab.
